Fixes:

  • Fixed message on 'Backup' to say backing up instead of restoring
  • Added Display timing fix to the tools section (RG351MP/V specific option)
  • Fixed an issue where if you exited a game while rumble was on, it'd stay on until a reset or a reboot
  • Fixed an issue where ScummVM's game scanner would sometimes create a nameless .scummvm file

Things to do after an upgrade:

  • If you've used Pico-8 system before, remove pico8 and pico8_dyn from roms/pico-8 folder, add the pico8_64 and pico8.dat from the Pico-8 Raspberry Pi package (v0.2.4b or newer) to roms/pico-8 folder
  • Rescan your ScummVM games with the script from tools section

    NOTE: some standalone emulators have not yet been fully adapted for the RG351MP, means controls may not work
  • Pre-Configured Bezels Support: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, Pokemon Mini, WonderSwan, Neo Geo Pocket and Supervision by default (see Wiki for details)
    • Configure/customize bezels (decorations) within Emulation Station.
    • Can override to use a specific system/game bezel

Things to do after an upgrade:

  • Bezels now show up in screensavers for enabled systems (random video/slideshow). If you don't want this behavior, please turn off the Decorations for the screensaver (ES -> Main Menu -> UI Settings -> Screensaver Settings -> Decorations -> None)
  • If you have created a custom es_systems configuration in the past and changed any <emulator> elements, you will need to make sure you are using retroarch instead of libretro as the emulator name

Fixes:

  • Fixed RetroArch scaling factors for glui and ozone menu drivers so the text appears properly sized.
    NOTE: you may need to reset your scaling factor if you previously increased the value above 1.00 (menu_scale_factor in retroarch.cfg)
  • Screensaver no longer restarts after sleep (#451)
  • RG351V:
    • Restart while charging now works without getting stuck on charging screen
    • Fix incorrect CPU clock speed reported
    • Fix issue where unplugging/plugging in headphones during sleep could cause headphones/speakers to be out of sync
    • Display is running now with 60Hz
  • Rumble works in:
    • Gambatte, PokeMini, px68k, TyrQuake
  • Removed VBA-Next emulation core for GB/GBC as VBA-Next never supported GB/GBC
  • Fixed color GBC/SGB Color Settings for Gambatte (#538)

Welcome to the 351ELEC Reborn Update!

Release Notes

Attention: over the air updates are currently disabled.
To update drop the .tar file into games/update folder and reboot your device.

General:

  • PSX controller type now defaults to standard instead of dualshock
  • Increased overall ES performance by deprecating emuelec-utils (thanks to Shantigilbert and dhwz and everyone involved!) - This increases the speed for opening "Advanced System Options" and "Advanced Game Options" in ES so you can more quickly set customizations that get applied to games. It also improves the speed at which games boot after launching them from ES.
  • Updated Retroarch to v1.9.2
  • Updated EasyRPG to v0.6.2.3 (thanks to dhwz) - This addresses #353
  • Updated freeintv core version
  • Moved emulator defaults to distribution.conf - Part of the work needed to create the speed increase noted above.
  • Removed U-Boot scam warning

New Stuff:

  • New emulator RetroRun (Flycast32) (currently only available via Downloads on P/M) (thanks to navy1978)
  • New themes for the RG351V (thanks to Szalik and Cody)

  • Fixed brightness for P/M/V (thanks to konsumschaf)
  • Fixed devilutionX mouse control (thanks to dhwz)
